USA Hockey's Playing Rules Committee approved proposals regarding the elimination of body checking at PeeWee (U12) level. The proposals now go on to the Youth Council and SPEC for further consideration. The proposal is rumored to contain a system of teaching and allowing progressively more body contact starting at Mites with an emphasis on teaching the skill of checking at the PeeWee level. I will post more details on the proposals when they become available.
Here is a complete list of rule changes approved for the 2011-2013 seasons.
