Blog: 20 Prospect

20 Prospect has a wonderfully humorous post titled The State of Hockey.  The State in question is, of course, Minnesota.   In this post, 20 Prospect Jr serves as an alias for his youth hockey playing son.  If your looking for a chuckle while waiting for the puck to drop this weekend, stick your tongue in your cheek and head over for more vignettes like this:

Seriously though, I have no earthly idea what I am doing out there on the ice. It’s amazing what parental guilt can convince you to do. Mostly I just hope I don’t embarrass myself, or hurt the children. So far, so good. Thankfully, there’s a real coach that actually knows how to skate and play hockey, so I do whatever he tells me, and try to stay out of the way. Who knows? If all goes well, I might actually learn how to skate, and lose a few pounds.

That's an apt description of me the few times I've been guilted into getting out there.  I know there has to be some of you reluctant "dad coaches" who can relate.
