Headlines: Coach Wally Honored

Wally Kormylo was honored by USA Hockey this summer with the William Thayer Tutt Award at the 2010 USA Hockey Annual Congress in Colorado Springs, CO.  The award recognized his 60 years of coaching as well as teaching skating to over 50,000 children.  He also volunteered for more than 30 years at the Stan Mikita Hearing Impaired Hockey School and has instructed Chicago Blackhawks Dennis Savard, Troy Murray, and Darryl Sutter.  Can you imagine that power skate?

Coach Wally's resume includes the following youth hockey teams and programs:  the Chicago Minor Hawks, the Chicago Young Americans, the Highland Park Leafs, the Glenview All Stars, and the Falcons.

Wally Kormylo was inducted into the Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Falcons Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009.

Stick taps for Coach Wally.
