  1. Don't understand how you came up with those teams for Elite bracket?

  2. Not I good sir, but NIHL. It looks like they took teams with 9 points or better from the two seeding round Gold A tiers. Disagree?

  3. That's exactly what the did. What's the point of a seeding round. NIHL got this wrong.

  4. Clearly the huge number of teams and NIHL's desire to have a balanced number of teams in each metallic level has "forced" them to place a number of teams higher than they should be. Some of those Gold B teams struggled to compete in the seeding round at that level and if you look at how they did in various tournaments, they also struggled against Silver teams. Likewise, the Silver division has multiple teams that failed to compete at that level in seeding but still got placed there. I mean really, if your +/- is -57, you need to be dropped down at least one full level.

    1. If clubs would place their teams in an honest and appropriate level and tier to begin with, then some of the resulting placements might make more sense. If you lowball your team to try to gain an advantage, then you shouldn't complain if the higher tiers are weighted more. And if for some reason you place a team way too high, and then they get stuck there, oh well. I think NIHL is trying to send the message that if you try to play games with placement in the seeding round, you might just get burned.

    2. Agree to a certain extent. There is at least one Gold B club I know that was placed there by the organization for no other reason than they wouldn't admit to the parents that their kids were not Gold level. They will struggle all year. There are also a lot of Silver teams from smaller organizations that really do not have the depth on their #1 or #2 rosters to be truly competitive at that level. Every year I am amazed they are not bumped down to Bronze. Why insist on being called Silver when you are going to win maybe two games all year and get crushed the rest of the time?

  5. Our team missed Peewee Elite by one goal. It was a tough cookie in both of the Gold A brackets in seeding. I don't the elite teams were picked wrong? If you seed at Gold A your making the statement, "you think we have elite potential" then play out the 8 games and see where you fall. Our team beat 2 teams that went elite in seeding. and also lost some games to teams that got placed elite. Went 4-4.. We are 1 scorer and 1 defensemen away from elite and ended up Gold A. so for some teams (who seeded correctly to begin with) ended up right where we should be. :) Good luck to all teams this season!

  6. I do, but I don't have a problem with the seeding. I do have a problem with the fact that they did not inform the clubs, that this would happen. Certain clubs are in a transition year and still hoped to go elite. And seeded in gold b. Then there were teams who over tiered and didn't even have a chance in gold a or gold b.
I feel bad for them, honestly. Because of then being over tiered, and nihl not moving teams down from gold to silver a. Wasn't fair because, now they won't be able to be competitive.
There were good and bad parts to the seeding, and some teams got the short end of the stick. Do I agree with it all? No... But it wasn't our choice. The season will start this weekend! Good luck to all the pewees!
