Vikings Announce New Hockey Director

The Vikings announced the selection of Nick Pollos as their new hockey director after an "exhaustive search".  Apparently they didn't put too many miles on the car, as they didn't even leave the rink!  You see, Nick Pollos was coach of the Tier 1 Chicago Fury 1996 (Bantam Major) team for the 2010-11 season.

More details on the new HD's resume after the jump.

From the announcement:

Coach Nick is entering his 20th season of coaching. He has been a integral part of the USA hockey / AHAI Development Camps for U18, U16 & U14 levels for several years. He led the Chicago Flames to the Midget Major State Championship and USA Hockey Regional Championship three season in a row from 1998-2001 and captured the USA National Championship in 1999. Over that three year span, Coach Nick saw 15 players graduate to Junior A. Hockey with seven of them going on to NCAA DI Careers and another playing professionally in the AHL. Coach Pollos then moved on to coach the Springfield Jr Blues in the NAHL. He spent 6 seasons as the Head Coach and General Manager  where he oversaw all day to day operations of the organization. Coach Nick has come highly recommended by coaches and managers from National Hockey League, NCAA and various Junior Leagues.

The Vikings have also posted a letter from HD Pollos here.
